Full Slate of Radio Programming Set to Begin on HEAT Radio Network

790 The Ticket To Broadcast Games in English; WQBA 1140 AM To Broadcast Games in Spanish

MIAMI, January 6th - For the second straight season, all Miami HEAT games of the 2011-12 season will be aired on the team’s flagship radio station, WAXY 790 The Ticket and throughout South Florida on the Miami HEAT Radio Network. The HEAT is proud to welcome back its member stations in West Palm (ESPN 760 & Seaview 960 AM, 95.9 FM & 106.9 FM), Naples/Ft Myers (ESPN 770), and Keys Radio which covers the HEAT from Key Largo to Key West (1300 AM, 93.5 FM, 94.3 FM, and 96.9 FM). In addition, this is the eighth season WQBA 1140 AM will broadcast HEAT games in Spanish.

“HEAT Weekly,” a two-hour radio show hosted by HEAT Network Radio host, Tommy Tighe, returns to 790 for a second season and makes it debut tomorrow, January 7 at 10:00 a.m. “HEAT Weekly” will also be offered to fans throughout the South Florida listening area on the member stations of the HEAT Radio Network.

Fans of the show will be treated to interviews with HEAT broadcasters, players, coaches and basketball front office personalities. Returning staples of the program will include “Practice Makes Perfect,” “Nationally Speaking,” and “Writers’ Block” among the many entertaining and informative segments.

Tighe enters his third season as a HEAT Radio Network host and has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years as a radio voice for studio coverage of the NFL on Westwood One and CBS Sports Radio. For three years, he anchored the US Open, and has produced and hosted many events including the 1992, 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics. Together with 790 The Ticket host Jonathan Zaslow, Tighe appears on every HEAT Radio Network broadcast preparing fans with a full hour of pre-game programming. The two talented hosts also pair up again for each halftime and comprehensive post-game show.

790 The Ticket will continue to engage fans throughout the season with a series of programs devoted to Miami HEAT basketball. The HEAT Hour will air each morning as part of “The Jorge Sedano Show,” but this season moves to a new start time at 8:00 a.m. HEAT fans will get a quick dose of team news just prior to the start of “The Dan LeBatard Show” (Monday through Friday) with the two-minute top of the hour update titled “Dos Minutos.” The HEAT Game Day will also remain a fixture of 790’s programming slate on HEAT game days, with regular appearances by the team’s stable of veteran radio and TV broadcast talent.

Mike Inglis will handle play-by-play responsibilities for a 14th consecutive season on 790 The Ticket, with former HEAT point guard John Crotty again joining as the color analyst on all 33 home games.

HEAT original Jose Pañeda and broadcast partner Joe Pujala will call the action in Spanish during the 2011-12 season on WQBA 1140 AM.
