Seven-game slate include date with NW Division rival Oklahoma City in Tulsa

Nuggets announce 2011 preseason schedule

DENVER, Aug. 18, 2011 – The 2011 preseason schedule is set to take the Denver Nuggets on a tour of the Southwest and provide a playoff flashback leading up to the Nov. 3 regular-season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Nuggets have two preseason dates at the Pepsi Center. The Minnesota Timberwolves are scheduled to visit on Oct. 16, and the Phoenix Suns are slated to travel to Denver on Oct. 23.

“Preseason games are a great way for Nuggets fans to scout out different spots for season tickets and 10-game plans,” said Kurt Schwartzkopf, chief marketing officer for the Nuggets. “They can work directly with an account executive and test-drive different locations while the games are being played.”

Denver’s remaining five preseason games are scheduled to take place on the road. The Nuggets open the preseason with back-to-back games against the Houston Rockets on Oct. 10 (site and time TBD) and at the Toyota Center in Houston on Oct. 11.

The Nuggets are tabbed to travel to Phoenix on Oct. 20 and then compete a tough back-to-back set against Northwest Division rival Oklahoma City in Tulsa, Okla., on Oct. 21. The Thunder beat Denver in a tightly contested first-round playoff series last spring.

The Nuggets are scheduled to wrap up the preseason against the Timberwolves at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Oct. 25, leaving more than a week to prepare for the 2011-12 season opener.

Season tickets and 10 Game Fan Plans are on sale now. Call 303-287-DUNK or visit www.nuggetsseats.com for information on pricing and the benefits of being a season-ticket holder. The single-game on-sale date will be announced at a later date.
