HOUSTON --The Ron Artest era got off to a remarkable start today in Houston. 

The Rockets introduced their prized acquisition to hundreds of raucous fans during a pep rally at Toyota Center, and the event quickly turned into a lovesfest between Artest and the rowdy crowd.  Fans greeted the star forward with signs, shouts and chants of, “No Layups!” in reference to Artest’s reputation as a one of a kind, in your face defender. 

Mere moments after that memorable reception, a still-glowing Artest sat down for a one-on-one interview with Rockets.com’s Jason Friedman.
